Australian Masterclass & Free-Pour Tasting 2026 (Denmark, Aarhus)

The Masterclass'Classic and Contemporary Australia' & Free-Pour Tasting takes place on Monday, 16 March 2026 at Restaurant SyvNi13 / Winelab Academy in Aarhus. And you are invited.

With some of the most ancient soils and oldest vines on the planet, and contemporary, innovative winemakers, Australia is full of contrasts and surprises.

Join us in Aarhus to explore Australia’s iconic regions and classic varieties as well as alternative varieties and new wave styles. Taste the wines that put Australia in the spotlight and discover exciting new wines that are coming out of the country today.

The masterclass features twelve wines from nine regions, with classicstyles including Clare Valley Riesling, Yarra Valley Chardonnay and old vine Barossa Shiraz, shown alongside their new wave alternatives including old vine Grenache, skin contact Greco, and a light chillable Pinot Noir, Gamay and Syrah blend.

We also invite you to explore classic and contemporary styles in the free-pour tasting, which features 35 wines from across Australia.

The line-up includes aromatic whites, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Grenache, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, and alternative varieties.

Don’t miss this exciting event. It’s a chance to uncover regional and stylistic differences, find out about winemaking techniques an innovative spirit, and look into the future of Australian wine.

Throughout the day, you can explore a curated selection of Australian wines presented by industry professionals. The masterclass is hosted by Wine Australia and presented by Emma Symington MW., and you can join one of two identical sessions at either 11:00–13:00 or 14:00–16:00, where you will be introduced to key regions, producers, and styles, and gain a deeper understanding of Australia’s contemporary wine landscape.

Between the sessions, from 13:00–13:30, you can enjoy a light lunch, providing a relaxed break and an opportunity to connect with other attendees. From 12:00–17:00, you can also take part in the open free-pour tasting, where you can sample a wider range of wines at your own pace. Here, you can revisit favourites from the masterclass, discover new producers, and experience the diversity of Australian winemaking across regions and grape varieties.

Whether you are a sommelier, buyer, waiter, or hospitality professional, this event offers a focused opportunity to deepen your knowledge, taste broadly, and connect with industry colleagues. The day is designed to provide valuable insights and a well-structured introduction to some of Australia’s most exciting wines.

The programme will be updated with information on participating wineries and wines.
